In Bloomington Indiana on June 29 Paris Hassan's Turk Hassen killed neighbor William Fender and then, during a manhunt, shot Walter Brown in the shoulder before killing himself to evade capture near Guthrie Maumee County. Fender owned a hive of bees that swarmed near the property.

Verdict Returned in Death of 15 Year Old Carl Smith
Coroner Morrow ruled Carl Smiths drowning an accidental death after he and companions explored a gravel pit north of Williamsburg. He stepped into a twenty foot hole and was overcome by cramps. Funeral services were held for the boy.

Danner Case Opens In Cambridge City Trial
Iva I. Danner of Cambridge City sues the T H I and E Traction Co. over injuries from a Milton streetcar collision in August 1913. A jury was sworn yesterday and today jurists debated a physical examination to test for railroad spine with doctors Zimmernman and Kinsey to report tomorrow. Mrs. Danner testified the Milton car backed into her causing probable fatal injuries.
