Assyrian Preacher to Speak at Mt Moriah Church Tonight
Rev H Sleman of Kurdistan will lecture at Mt Moriah Baptist tonight from 8:00 to 9:30. He is the only Assyrian preacher in America and will translate scriptures from Assyrian Greek Hebrew into English. He travels in Asiatic attire and will display oriental crafts. Man Clings to Flagstaff Before Sheriff
Alonzo Fisher, a young colored man confined at the county jail, attempted a second climb to repair a pulley on the courthouse flagstaff Thursday afternoon. He descended from about half the way when gear balked, landing on the steeple ball. Sheriff Meredith warned him to come down, citing potential county liability if harm occurred. Fisher refused to part with the ten dollars offered for the climb, remaining cautious about the perilous task.
