Dick Brannon a Steamfitter of 40 Laurel Street was overcome on South Eighth Street near B Street and carried to his home by city ambulance in not serious condition.

Willard Hewitt Drowns In Four Foot Whitewater River
A twelve year old boy Willard Hewitt died after being pulled from the shallow Whitewater River near Doran bridge. Rescue attempts with the police lung motor continued for nearly an hour but failed. Eyewitnesses describe Willard wading toward a duck when he disappeared into mud and water. His parents reside on North Third street and he was one of six children of Alfred and Mrs. Hewitt.
