Warren president of the Michigan Sugar Refining Co testified before the house sugar monopoly inquiry that no understanding existed with Secretary of War Taft about sugar tariffs if Taft became president. He acknowledged representing Havemeyers and American Sugar Refining Co as counsel while serving as president of Michigan Sugar Refining.
