Chicago June 20 A split in the committee on permanent organization of the Republican convention ended when the recommendation to make the temporary organization permanent was adopted 21 to 7. Seventeen anti Taft members were outvoted and quit. The 28 present formed a quorum in room 1616 at the Congress hotel. R P Copely opposed until credentials were finished. Tense verbal clash followed as Gov Simon Pennville backed the move and the bolt occurred.
