British steamer Ailsa torpedoed and sunk in North Sea
The British steamship Ailsa of 876 tons, bound from Norway to Leith with timber, was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine in the North Sea. The crew were saved and landed today. The Dulcie, a 2000 ton freighter, was also sunk off Suffolk with one life lost.

Indianapolis June 19 John Burk former Panama Canal railroad commissary manager and Ricardo Bermudez former Panamanian official were indicted by a federal grand jury for alleged government frauds.
