Boise Idaho June 11 The attorneys fighting to save William D Haywood and the Western Federation of Miners grilled Harry Orchard over his life of crime and confession. They accused his motives of false swearing to save himself and attacked his character while he testified about his conversion and penitence. Orchard cried at reciting the David and Uriah tale then steadied and finished. He said his confession was a genuine conversion and repair. After a noon recess former Colorado Governor Peabody met Orchard in the prosecutor’s office and Orchard cried, saying he was ashamed to speak to him but Peabody reassured him and the two talked for about 15 minutes in a friendly parting.
