Homeless Wanderer William Clark Attempts Self Harm
William Clark a 76 year old homeless man in Reid hospital ward confessed that he tried to kill himself after being refused admission to the infirmary. He said he planned death by his own action in a thicket near the Country club two miles east of Richmond. He cut his throat with a razor and was found unconscious by boys Monday afternoon and taken to Reid hospital. City Physician Huffman examined him.

Kelly Ordered 10 Commence Action Against Slackers

American Tanker Petrolite Sunk By Submarine
June 12 report from Washington says the American steamer Petrolite, a 3710 ton tanker owned by Standard Oil, was sunk by a German submarine. Consular dispatches note 18 men including the third mate and chief engineer were landed while two additional boats with an unknown number remain missing.
