Lewiston Idaho June 2 National Bank Examiner Claude Gatch reports a funds shortage at Lewiston National Bank. The stockholders have made good the alleged shortfall, said to be 137000 dollars.
Earl Crabb, a well known young man, is confined to his home suffering from blood poisoning in his foot after stepping on a nail several days ago. Local reports note his condition remains serious but is not described as life threatening.

Harry Clark, charged with forgery, was brought to court for grand jury empaneling but Judge Fox did not direct the jury to the case. Clark was returned to jail and will be defended by the pauper attorney. The court ruled the affidavit form valid.
Washington reports the United States produced 1908 cotton totaling 13,587,306 five hundred pound bales, the third largest harvest in history. Texas yielded 3,918,064 bales, Arkansas Alabama and Mississippi rose, while Louisiana and Oklahoma declined. Georgia produced 1,980,077 bales.
Los Angeles on June 2 Charles Barre was arrested after possessing a bracelet matching the item taken from Laura Rogester who was strangled to death in Providence Rhode Island. Barre offered no satisfactory explanation for its possession and was attempting to sell it at arrest.
Uncle Joe Cannon will not attend the Earlham College anniversary banquet on June 15 due to pending tariff legislation. Arrangements are made for a Coliseum venue with invited speakers including Albert H. Wotan Morris Wright Sumter Haynes Mrs. Charles Rowand and faculty members. Senator Dison Dr William Hill and Judge Vinson Carter are among expected attendees with short responses planned.
