Chicago July 21 Nearly two score passengers on the Aurora Elgin and Chicago railroad were injured in a head on collision near Aurora at eight this morning. Trains were running about forty miles an hour. Several may die. Motorman failure to obey orders blamed. Elgin train failed to stop at a switch and was struck by an Aurora bound train turning a curve.

John Martin age 18 Oak Park ran the final leg through Jackson boulevard and Lasalle street cleared of traffic. A huge crowd cheered as the total time reached 119 hours and thirty seconds averaging eight and a half miles per hour.
