Lightning Strikes Home Shattering Chimney on Thirteenth Street
During a heavy storm a bolt hit the chimney at John Hostetter’s home at 401 South Thirteenth Street, toppling the chimney onto the front walk. Mrs Hostetter alerted the fire department, but no fire was found. bricks cluttered the walkway and all occupants were unharmed. Fire officials noted the storm’s electrical display was very intense though damage appeared limited to the exterior.
