Skiles Hoffman, son of Mr and Mrs Harry Hoffman of High Point, renowned hurdler and sprinter, holds Virginia records in 120 yard hurdles and ties 100 yard dash at 10 seconds. City Council weighs street improvements and gravel roads

Tuesday night the City Council discussed buying a pool table for the North Side Club, selling horses and wagons, and buying a motor truck for gravel spreading. Citizens may petition 60 percent to start street work, with costs shared. Whiskey raid near Jamestown ends in arrest

Deputies Shaw Weatherly Hobbs Clark and Ingram captured John Wade on the High Point Greensboro road near Jamestown Friday evening with a wagon full of whiskey and a man who received it. Wade failed to bail, others escaped, and Wade is charged with retailing on a $1,000 bond.

Derby of Jackson Springs drove a car with a mounted gun and 2,000 rounds from Plattsburg New York to New York City, a distance of 340 miles, in eighteen hours to prove rapid concentration potential.
