The remains of Preston Murph arrived Monday night and a funeral was held at Mt Pleasant Church yesterday. Murphy, who grew up near Mt Pleasant, had ventured to California, then returned and married Beth, daughter of Dulph Burton. High Pointed Wreck Kills Engineer and Fireman

Alf and H A Moffitt were aboard No 32 when it collided with two lumber cars near Charlottesville at 4 am Tuesday. The engineer died instantly, the fireman died later, about fifteen front-car passengers were injured, and the train halted for over four hours before reaching Baltimore around noon on Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wiley left Greensboro today for Fort Mill, South Carolina, after a message informed them of the death of Mrs. Wiley’s brother, Mr. J. P. McMurry, who was killed in a Sunday night automobile accident near Fort Mill. No further details were given.

Fayetteville reports Deputy Sheriff Frank Dees shot and killed by Carl Bryant after serving a warrant for disturbance of a religious congregation in Seventy First township.
