Two youths given six months road sentence in town

Will Plummer and Theodore McKees two youths accused of stealing promiscuously around town were each sentenced to six months on the road. Moore's Springs property was sold to a company that plans substantial improvement.

OLD SOLDIERS GET PERMANENT HQ FOR HIGH POINT CHAPTER

The Confederate Veterans of the High Point chapter secure permanent rooms above Wachovia Bank and Trust Co. for meetings. A committee to oversee interests includes Geo. T. Woods W. W. Idol J. L. Woodson J. P. Rawley and W. L. Stamey. Treasurer is Mr Adol who seeks donations from veterans sons grandsons and supporters.

Special Rates For Southern Un Football Trip And DC Excursion

Round trip rail fares from High Point to Richmond for the annual football game on November 25 are $3.25 with Asheboro at $4.00. A special coach excursion to Washington DC departs November 20 from High Point at 5.50 dollars, with departure passes around nine oclock that night. An excellent chance to visit these places at low cost.

Colored man given eight months for severe cutting at stables

Andrew Springs colored was sentenced to eight months by the Recorder after severely cutting Jim Bynum at Bynum's stables last week. Springs fled Greensboro but was found by Chief Gray in the eastern part of the city and brought back for trial.

The Review promotes funding a full time teacher for civic beauty and home gardening in High Point. It argues the program benefits youth, thrift, and community wealth, estimating a city cost of 480 dollars yearly beyond current spending.
