O B Kearns and G J Kearns plan alterations to the Fields building on South Main to create a modern theater seating about 1200 to 1400 with a marble lobby a soda fountain and a palm room. Vaudeville is planned with a long term lease and a cafe in the basement. The project costs are estimated between 1000 and 60000 dollars and aims for a 1919 20 opening.

Peanut wagon catches fire near passenger depot

Gas Wagon Reported Stolen Then Recovered in Greensboro

A five passenger car stolen from BE W Apple of Greensboro was found and returned by Deputy Sheriff J E Wagner late Friday after being taken earlier that morning. Jamestown dealer J W Matlock fired at a tamperer during a nearby gas station incident. the thief fled and the deputy was alerted. The vehicle sustained no damage. Mrs Fisher Dead Pioneer of High Point Dies at Home

Mrs Geo F Fisher aged among High Point’s oldest residents died Tuesday at her daughter Mrs W G Shipman’s home. Funeral services were held there today with interment in Oakwood. Also reported, two year old son of Mr and Mrs Clark Addick died Wednesday afternoon and was sent to York South Carolina for burial.
