They have won the Loving Cup for two years for best appearance and number in parades and say if they won this year it would become their property but they would donate another cup due to their liberal views.

Welch school closes year with concerts and plays

R F D No 1 Welch school marks a successful year with a term end program on April 25 26 including a Toy Shop play directed by Misses Bessie Cashwell and Mary Sharpe a commencement address by Rev Jos Hiatt of Winston Salem and Thos R Foust of Greensboro a recitation contest won by Miss Ann Kirkman and another performance The Old New Hampshire Home. Principal R C Boyd provided the prize.

High Rock booms into a growing river town life

Aged Citizen Dies at Home on Clay Street

J I Davis died of tuberculosis Friday night at his Clay street home in his 63rd year. Survived by two sons and two daughters. Funeral services were held at his home Sunday afternoon led by Rev. J M Hilliard of Greene Street Baptist Church. Interment in Oakwood cemetery.
