Three buildings at the George Gould hunting lodge near Jamestown burned on Sunday afternoon, destroying a stable a granary and another outbuilding. Fifteen horses and substantial grain were lost with damage around 20000 dollars. The lodge itself was spared and the fire’s cause remains unknown. The destroyed structures will likely be replaced soon.

Death of Mrs. Dawkins at West Ashboro
Mrs. J. R. Dawkins died at her West Ashboro home Sunday evening at age 35. Described as a person of high character she succumbed to tuberculosis. Funeral and burial took place Monday at the old family cemetery about 15 miles south of Ashboro with Rev. J. E. Thompson officiating. Survived by two children and her husband.
