Arrested Sunday in Santiago by deputies D W Martin Earl Cecil H D Stout and officers W G Friddle and E W Noah. Officers found 7.40 on grounds where men played cards. Blanc Guyer faced Judge Royal on a separate charge and was placed under a 100 dollar six month peace bond. Vic Brown witness in assault case withdrew warrant. defendant paid costs. Sam Thompson found not guilty of larceny. Several defendants held for intoxication.

Seven Wade defendants guilty in High Point car theft cases
Superior Court jurors found William Wade Robert Wade W E W Bessie Logan and Dora Matthews of near High Point guilty of larceny of an automobile. William Wade sentenced to seven years in Raleigh state penitentiary. Four others each receive four years. Robert Wade fled court, capias issued. All four defendants gave notice of appeal. Wade bond set at 3500. other three at 3000 each, none able to bail. Jerry Corbett, a nearby resident, identified as related to the case. Clay Welborne discharged after paying costs. had earlier faced county roads sentence after settling with prosecutors. Welborne drove an automobile striking two Goshen ladies’ vehicle months ago.

Harry K. Davis, a white man from Charlotte, was arrested in Charlotte and brought to High Point for trial before Judge Walter Royal on a charge of false pretense. Southern Power wins in federal case over power supply
