Milton Lackey of Caraway visited with Mrs. Lackey's mother Jeremiah McDowell over the weekend. Mrs. R. R. Hunt spent Sunday evening at Eddie Pierce's on Caraway Route 2. King's Daughters' Convention Scheduled for Rockingham

The King's Daughters Twenty Fifth Annual Convention will be held in Rockingham at the Methodist Episcopal Church from June 17 to 19. The executive committee meets Wednesday at 5 PM, with the convention opening for business Wednesday evening at 8 and closing Friday evening. Delegates should arrive by Wednesday noon. A silver offering for State work at Stonewall Jackson School Cord will be received Friday evening.

State Normal and Industrial College Enrollment Growth

The State Normal and Industrial College highlights steady growth for women’s higher education in North Carolina. Last year total enrollment reached 1233 with nine-tenths of the graduates teaching in NC schools.
