Water rose over banks for miles, washing away approaches on the Davidson side while arches and rock piers held firm against debris. A lone wooden chair floated by as observers recalled human stories amid the flood’s aftermath.

The Pickett family and associates traveled to Raleigh for Pasteur treatment after a bull pup with hydrophobia bit several people. Most were severely bitten. O P Pickett and Clifton Pickett avoided major wounds. The dog was examined in Raleigh and labeled mad. the group must stay three weeks.

Death of Aged Man Near Fairfield Church
Uncle Tommy Modlin died at his home four miles south of here near Fairfield Church. Funeral services set for tomorrow morning at eleven o clock. He was between 85 and 90 years old and had suffered from age and infirmities for the past three years. A wife survives him. He was one of the oldest citizens in this section.
