Mrs. Della Maxwell died Saturday at 608 West Lee Street Greensboro and was buried at Marlboro Quaker cemetery in Randolph County. Rev. R. M. Andrews conducted the service with family and Greensboro friends in attendance. The bereaved include her husband, children, siblings, and many relatives.

Crowder Bros proprietors of the High Point Steam Laundry plan to take down a nearly century old large oak on their East Washington street lot near People’s Motor company. The tree is a city landmark as preparations begin for the laundry building.

In Recorder's court on Monday Ernost Croft was sentenced to 30 days on the road for an assault with a whisky bottle on John Briles. Ennos Croft’s 30 day sentence was suspended if not indicted again in 12 months. Croft paid $6 and costs. A R Williams, colored, created a spree damage case with $10 window pane damage and was ordered to pay $10 plus costs. Bert Gilliam and Will Hill each paid fines and costs for disturbing the peace after hours in front of the Broad Street Greek restaurant.

E E Mendenhall of Greensboro filed for bankruptcy on behalf of creditors totaling 750 dollars. Judge Boyd issued the decree with Mendenhall as receiver until January 31, when a hearing is set. The Standard Mirror company of this city Italy secured a sizable order for art glass work from the German Reformed church in Bluefield Nicaragua Central America. T. A.
