Mrs. Emily Bangness of Danville Va died at her grandson John Cochrane's home near Pickett Cotton Mills. Interment to take place in Reidsville. She would have turned 100 on April 15, noted for an active life and skilled needlework. Guilford Superior Court convened by Judge C C Lyon at 9:30 am for a two week term with a heavy calendar and important motions expected.

Child Burned to Death Near Thomasville Road
The six year old daughter of Maynard Kennedy living three miles out on the Thomasville road died after a Tuesday morning house fire. Neighbors extinguished flames from the burning structure, and the child, with clothes aflame, was rescued while running toward a nearby house.
