Centenarian Dead In Danville Native Dies Near Pickett Mills

Mrs. Emily Bangness of Danville Va died at her grandson John Cochrane's home near Pickett Cotton Mills. Interment to take place in Reidsville. She would have turned 100 on April 15, noted for an active life and skilled needlework. Guilford Superior Court convened by Judge C C Lyon at 9:30 am for a two week term with a heavy calendar and important motions expected.

Population estimates for High Point 1910 to 1915

The census based estimates place High Point population at 12 240 on April 15 1915 up from 9 525 in 1910 an increase of 2715 or 28 5 percent over five years Officials note the July 1 1915 estimate will be 12353 and real US population hits 100 000 000 by April 2 at 4 pm explained with a math view.

The six year old daughter of Maynard Kennedy living three miles out on the Thomasville road died after a Tuesday morning house fire. Neighbors extinguished flames from the burning structure, and the child, with clothes aflame, was rescued while running toward a nearby house.

A bucket of tar boiled over and caught fire in the rear of the Thacker shoe store Monday at 1 PM. Fire fighters arrived to extinguish it just in time, as flames neared The Review office.

Ground to Death by Cruel Car Wheels

A Chester, South Carolina man Lawrence Roof dies after his legs are crushed by freight car wheels at a crossing near O A Kirkman’s home. He asks to be picked up gently as he dies, thinking of his wife and baby. His brother, also traveling for work, was with him but survived. Remains to Chester for interment. Mrs McClure Dies in Norfolk and Rushed Home

Mrs. McClure wife of B F McClure died in Norfolk Sunday. Her remains were brought to High Point Tuesday for interment. Funeral services were held at Main Street M P church at 2 PM conducted by Rev A G Dixon.
