High Point Link to 15 Mile Superior Highway Planned

Guilford county commissioners unanimously authorize up to 125000 to build a concrete asphalt highway between Greensboro and High Point. About 10 miles remain with cost estimated at 12500 per mile. The project aims to use outside contractors to reserve county convict labor for other improvements.

Recorder's Court January roundup shows 36 convictions

In January Recorder's court tried forty one cases with thirty six convictions. Offenders faced charges including drunks and disorderlies health ordinance violations larceny forgery pistol toting and whiskey selling. Will Rankin received 30 days on the road and Walter Leach was fined with costs in a gambling case. Ed Medlin Mary Caldwell and Chase Wright with five dollar fines and costs for drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Joe Tyson's larceny case involving a pistol and liquor is disputed with another case to be tried. Welborn acquitted of selling liquor yesterday with another case pending.
