Double Murderer Escapes Electric Chair
In Waynesville on February 4, James Easter Caldwell pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the killings of his wife and her uncle Asbury Moody. Judge Frank Carter accepted the plea with the State's agreement. Caldwell received sentences totaling 50 years at hard labor, 30 years for the wife’s death and 20 years for Moody’s death.
