Fourteen Year Old Lafayette Lambert Killed in Railway Accident

A 14 year old Lafayette Lambert died after being crushed beneath a freight train near the Bellevue hotel yard. Witnesses say he boarded No. 5 at the depot and rode about 35 feet before falling. The body was mangled, fragments recovered by undertakers, and funeral services were held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

Two paid costs of 485 each. three asked to wire home for money and were granted time to avoid jail, then proceeded on their way.
