Charles Bailiff, a young white man, stole a valuable thoroughbred horse from W. R. Reece in Greensboro. He fled to Winston-Salem, attempted to sell the horse, was arrested after a suspicious buyer alerted police, and will be tried there. Bailiff left a note to his father, denouncing him.
