Automobiles Collide on Main Street Friday

Two cars collided on North Main Street opposite the Home Barking company around 1 pm. Fireman L Wagner driving a Ford and Chas Robbins in a Buick collided in the car line, Robbins' car given a broadside and knocked about 10 feet. Both vehicles were damaged but no serious injuries were reported.

OLD PENSION CHECKS DISTRIBUTED IN LOCAL COUNTY

Tuesday pension checks for Confederate soldiers and widows were issued at J. L. Parrish's office. Twenty eight old soldiers are listed in the county with varying annual amounts from $32 to $120, plus about 150 widows receiving pensions this year.

Young man convicted of theft in Superior court

Clay Moore was found guilty of stealing Mrs. J R Reitzel’s car and N H Silver’s property and transporting them to Pennsylvania where he was caught and brought back for trial. Judge Webb postponed sentencing to allow payment of damages and a clean slate. He later ordered eight months on the roads with the option to be hired out.
