Two Dead in Fatal Greensboro High Point Boulevard Crash
A wreck on the Greensboro High Point boulevard Sunday afternoon killed Mrs. Mamie C. Loyal and Mrs. Dave Shelley and injured others. Shube Anthony, aged farmer, is jailed on murder and intoxication charges after his car overturned. Funeral services for Mrs. Loyal were held at Rehoboth church with burial in its cemetery.

Escaped convict taken into custody near Raleigh
Frank Young an escaped prisoner from the Raleigh state penitentiary was caught by local police five months after his escape. He had killed a man in Mecklenburg county last December and was to serve ten years. A $25 reward spurred the capture at his wife’s East Washington street home.

Union Picketers Active Last Week At Local Factories
Union picketers were active and peaceful last week at Welch and Kearns factories and surrounding plants.
