Long family reunion marks first Thomas Lange event in Bethany

The Bethany community held its first annual Thomas Lange reunion with about 1500 descendants and 900 neighbors in Davidson County. A 200 foot long dinner table fed 2000 people as programs noted genealogical sketches, reunion songs, and greetings. The event honored Thomas Lange, who settled near Bethany in 1740 from Germany, with plans for the Thomas Lange Association organized January 30, 1916 and numerous family officers listed.

Bank offers 50000 loan to accelerate street work

Elwood Cox of Commercial National Bank proposes lending the city 50000 while bonds are advertised and sold. The suggestion is hailed as an excellent move with nothing to lose and much to gain, urging the City Council to accept forthwith.
