Big Chief Bill Welch and aides raided a South Main street union poker game at midnight. Eleven dollars, cards and whiskey were seized as evidence. Scott Kiser and A M Stuart faced fines. Roy White and others testified, bonds set, and new officers elected as leaders were convicted.

Former Resident D. T. Marable Dies in Winston-Salem

D. T. Marable former resident of this city died at his home in Winston-Salem Friday night. He is survived by his wife Lenora Moon Marable a brother A T Marable of Greensboro a daughter Mrs F D Gamble of Birmingham. Funeral services were held in Winston Salem Sunday at 2 30 p m and body was brought to this city for interment in Oakwood cemetery.

Deaf Mute Couple Wed in North Carolina

J Vance Hendley of Durham and Miss Lillian McKenzie both deaf mutes were married by Rev R C Fortune in Jackson Springs after traveling from Durham. The ceremony marks one of the few such marriages in the state and connects to a history of deaf mutes in the Durham Episcopal community. High Point Men Injured in Automobile Accident
