Luther Reed company of Fall River and Pawtucket firms to loom reeds locates its new factory in High Point after Greensboro cannot provide immediate floor space. Secretary C W Roberts of the chamber of commerce reports the decision followed urging for a ready building and favorable impressions in High Point and Atlanta were considered.

Death of Mrs Hedgecock pioneer of Guilford County
Mrs Adhsah Catherine Hedgecock aged 74 died Wednesday at her home west of the city after a lengthy illness. She was born September 5, 1839, married December 19, 1861 to David M. Hedgecock, who died in 1904. Survived by two daughters Lou Hamilton and Emily Hedgecock, two sons William P. and Joshua H. Hedgecock, one brother N M Carter of Ethrie Oklahoma. She was a member of the Friends church. Funeral Thursday at 4 oclock at the Friends church. Burial in Springfield family plot.

Labor Body Chooses High Point as 1921 Meeting Site
The North Carolina State Federation of Labor wrapped a three day Charlotte convention with officers elected for the next year. W F Moody of Raleigh was named president, with W J Thomas of Salisbury as first vice president, Nellie Pressley of Asheville as second vice president, C G Worsley of Asheville secretary treasurer, J F Barrett of Asheville organizer, and C F Pilley of Raleigh sergeant at arms. The body rejected repealing primary laws, deeming it disfranchisement of 90 percent of qualified voters, and endorsed expanding adoption and ballot reform to shield the labor vote from coercion, while designating High Point as the next meeting site.

City to appropriate funds for colored school program

City Council Orders Band Stand Erected and Street Rules
