Watermelon Treat Hosts Editor and Family Night

Avery Little, 12, of Thomasville Orphanage, was killed by a freight train near Lexington on Sunday, and a companion was injured. The two boys were part of a group traveling toward Salisbury that morning. Mrs. J. P. Crowder and family are visiting Blackstone, Virginia, for a several day stay.

Coble’s Brother Claussen Dies of Typhoid in Claussen
William Claussen Jr. of Claussen South Carolina, brother of Mrs C P Coble of this city, died at his home last week from typhoid fever. An influential farmer, he owned a large farm and was the eldest son. He is survived by his parents three sisters and two brothers, one a physician serving in France. Funeral services were held at the family home and interment followed in the family cemetery on the Claussen farm.
