Quarantine violators face full penalties under Boise board of health rules. Cataldo’s Coeur d’Alene river bridge will be rebuilt at 24000 dollars with 8000 from Kootenai County and equal shares from Shoshone County and the state highway commission. Pacific and Idaho Northern Railway moves shops to Weiser from New Meadows with utilities commission approval.

Washington December 3 1910 Congressman Burton L French introduces a bill allowing soldiers sailors marines and officers to keep and wear their uniforms and other apparel after honorable discharge. He cites sentimental pride and economic waste as main reasons for action.
Boise voters rejected a constitutional amendment to cap the state's bonded debt at 1 percent of assessed valuation, instead of the current $2,000,000 limit. The setback threatens road funding as no more bonds can be issued. federal aid requires matching state funds. If approved, the amendment would have allowed bonds up to $4,600,000 based on valuation, changing highway financing dynamics before the 1921 legislative session.
The war department estimates that over seven billion dollars of the twenty four billions appropriated for the army for the current fiscal year will not be needed. A saving of one billion is also promised by the navy department.

Spirit Lake reports George Fortier back at Pan handle offices after a ten day flu siege. Commercial club foresees new business and a hotel project near the lake. British Day observed at the Cozy theatre on December 7 under the Patriotic League. Spirit Lake’s W. S. S. quota set at 15000 dollars per county chairman note.
Fritz Lille 37 died from influenza on December 6 and 28 new flu cases were reported in Coeur d Alene on Tuesday. Edwin A Foss of Coeur d Alene is listed among the Dec 10 casualty list. George Weeks seeks to annul his son Ralphs marriage at age 17 contracted without consent.
U S Senator Charles S Thomas of Colorado told a thrift conference in New York that ordinary efficiency in public administration could save 600 million dollars yearly. He warned the war left a debt of up to 35.0 billion and interest near 1.4 billion, urging economy. immigrants and unassimilable colonies were cited as breeding grounds for disorders, and Carter Glass succeeds William McAdoo as secretary of the treasury.
