Normal Students Enjoy Cooley Canyon Picnic Adventure
A large group from the Normal and town residents took a holiday trip twelve miles east to Cooley Canyon. They arrived by nine, had a grand noon meal for about 175 people, and later explored the canyon with climbs and rocky passages. No serious injuries occurred. one young lady was exhausted. The excursion ended with the group returning by five o'clock, content with the day.

Narrow Escape For L. E. Cowling In Auto Smashup
Wednesday afternoon L. E. Cowling narrowly escaped serious injury when his car overturned off an embankment north of Canyon. Judge Lair and H. L. Herd of Ft Worth jumped clear as the vehicle rolled, Cowling saved by the steering wheel’s support. He suffered only minor injuries.

Death of Mrs Henry Schuette at 39
Mrs Henry Schuette died at her home Saturday and was buried Sunday at age 39 years 6 months and 11 days. She leaves a husband and ten children. Funeral conducted from the house Sunday by Rev Lohmann with sympathy offered to the family.

Two Boys Lose Fingers In Machinery Incident
Roy Taylor and Al Liedtke lost middle fingers this week when crushed by cog wheels of a corn binder. Both boys are recovering and expected to be laid up for some time.
