Lake Washington canal to spur regional growth and steel plant
James A. Moore leads a push to fund and build the Lake Washington canal linking Lake Washington to Puget Sound. County bonds of 500000 are to back the project with private steel investment for a Kirkland plant. The canal would drain acres of fertile lands, boost agriculture, expand population and traffic, and boost Puget Sound commerce.
