Rutherford County Farmers Alliance Elects Leaders at Forest City
In Forest City August 3 the Rutherford County Farmers Alliance held a regular session with Sub Alliances reporting over a hundred percent membership growth in the last quarter. Resolutions backed free silver coinage and repeal of discriminatory laws, pledging members to Farm Alliance principles and endorsing The Progressive Farmer and Caucasian. Marion Butler spoke to about 2,000 in the academy grove on August 4. The next quarterly meeting is set for Sunshine on the second Thursday in October.
