Open Letter to President Harrison on Monetary Reform
E O Balussee argues for radical monetary changes to aid farmers and laborers. He critiques the current mix of gold, silver, and paper money and urges government national control, low interest lending, and depositories to prevent panics and protect savers. He frames the issue as a constitutional power with Congress and the Executive duty to act.

Strawberry blight control and prevention notes
Strawberry blight is common in beds over one year old and weakens the second crop. The disease comes from a parasitic fungus Nphaerella ragarie. Best remedy is to mow leaves after harvest, dry them, then burn to destroy spores. Fall rake and burn leaves killed by frost. If a wash is needed, formulas No. 5 or 6 from Bulletin No. 76 NC Experiment Station may be used on leaves before blossoming.
