Persian Gulf Water Dives Save Bahrein Heat Society

The Detroit Free Press describes the Persian Gulf coast as the hottest region on earth with July and August temperatures above 100 and reaching 130. In Bahrein, water scarcity is solved by divers called machadores who siphon fresh water from submarine springs 260 feet deep, bringing hundreds of goat-skin bags daily without saltwater contamination. The springs’ source is believed to lie in Osmond hills 400 to 500 miles away, a mystery since ancient times.
