Examinations and Graduations Highlight Local Schools
This week featured public school examinations and closing exercises. Crokett Street School awarded a scholarship medal to Marguerite Tulles, while Rosa Gretschel earned a scholarship medal at Mercury School. High school graduation exercises were held at the courthouse with diplomas presented by Dr. Dazell, praising the valedictorian Kate Jones and the class overall. The Jewish community observed Pentecostal season confirmations at the synagogue with music by Rabbi Saenger and choirs, and mourned the deaths of Sister Louise and Mrs. Hattie Rosenthal. Various social notices, visits, marriages, and local travel promotions followed, including a forthcoming marriage in June and railway round-trip ticket sales for late May events.
