City Council Meets. paving contract and street moves approved

The City Hall session covered by The Progress reports decisive action by the Big Five led by Mayor and trustees. Street paving was awarded to John F. Talbot at 1.87 per square yard for Coffeeville brick to be laid on Texas street and intersections with Common and Texas avenues. An election was ordered to decide if Columbia Compress and Warehouse Co would close parts of Caddo Street and nearby lanes within their property. The bridge fund moved to general funds and several posts were filled, including civil engineer F W Kane and market master C McCarty. The Progress lauds J W Jeter of Bossier for police juror victory amid alleged political maneuvering.
