Hats and social life in a Louisiana parish vignette

A fragment from a 19th century Louisiana page recounts social events in Ward 2 Caddo Parish including Mrs Eefelle Vance hosting guests in Shreveport with Miss Carrie Thornberry and Miss Jessie Frank visiting from Mississippi. It notes Mrs Lynn Lysight winning a prize, a Mardi Gras like Carnival practice, and local notices about a public ferry dispute and political reform ideas. It ends with a sad death notice for Frank Parker and an oyster ad.
