Paris dispatch reports Franco Americans have advanced beyond the first German line to positions near the heights northwest of Talure and Fontaine en Dor during World War I action. The advance signals growing pressure on German defenses as Allied forces push forward toward strategic targets.
By 9 30 this morning the British appeared to have crossed the Canal Du Nord defenses on a three mile front and advanced to a maximum depth of a mile and a quarter.
