In a western desert first-aid station in Cairo Egypt on September 26 R A F doctors improvised with a five ton crane to perform four delicate spinal operations. Injured men were raised gently and suspended by the feet to reposition vertebrae while lacking a special table and pulleys. All four operations were reported successful though the crane work was described as tricky and the operator preferred his regular job.

Three Die On Oregon Farm
Three persons with gunshot wounds were found dead on a Hermiston area farm near Pendleton Oregon early today.
