Democratic presidential nominee Governor Roosevelt rests after a two week trek from Albany to the Pacific coast. In Arizona he visits Mrs. John C. Greenway's ranch near Williams with Mrs. Roosevelt. He will travel next to New Mexico and then back toward Albany by October 3.
Mrs Raymond Robins visiting Long Island plans a personal appeal to President Hoover to help locate her missing husband an active prohibition and peace advocate who disappeared while en route to Washington over two weeks ago.
The first Bannock county fair and rodeo wrapped up Sunday at 5 30 pm drawing about 5000 spectators. Highlights included top hands competing on premier stock, with Midnight ridden by Willie Edmo of Fort Hall causing a dramatic fall over the grandstand fence before safe recovery. Howard Tegland of Ismay Mont. rode Rimrock in a wild descent and earned a re ride to tame the horse.

Vice Admiral Joel Roberts Poinset Pringle, a noted naval strategist and former chief of staff to Admiral William Sims, died in San Diego at 49 after an abdominal ailment. He was en route from Puget Sound to Washington for a future chief of naval operations post. His death prompted half mast across naval districts as his body was to be sent to Annapolis. His wife daughter and son-in-law were at his bedside.

Federal prohibition agent James G. Harney was found dead from a rifle bullet after a raid on a wildcat distillery in Minnesota woods near Tamarack. He disappeared about 20 hours earlier and was located in brush under a fresh layer of moss.

Buried in the wreckage, pilot Henry Halkjar aged 32 and passenger Charles McCuaig aged 22 died after their airplane dived to earth in Evanston.
The Eastern Idaho District Fair in Blackfoot begins Tuesday at noon with a parade featuring Fort Hall Indians rodeo stars and high school bands from Idaho Falls Rexburg Rigby Driggs and Blackfoot. Afternoon events include light horse pulling harness and running races, a war dance pageant and a grand fireworks show each night.
Chief of Detectives Jack Balderston of the Pocatello Police Department and Deputy Sheriff L B Tolley flew to Idaho Falls to pursue leads in a safeblowing at the University of Idaho Southern Branch early last Wednesday. Idaho Falls police report a similar burglary last week and suspect the same gang, with two men under surveillance. Between 300 and 400 dollars in cash and checks were taken. the Idaho Falls high school burglary is linked, and Joe Philippi of San Francisco Trails is held for investigation. Philippi was seen with men known to have prison records the night before the university robbery.
Senator Smoot said after briefing President Hoover that Utah will go for Hoover and the president will win the nation. He noted the political picture is improving for the Republicans and predicted Utah election results would not be close. Smoot discussed the proposed world economic conference and potential venue, while Norman Davis sailed to assist delegate preparations.
Col Roscoe Turner set a record by flying 370 miles between Los Angeles and San Francisco in 1 hour 14 minutes averaging 300 mph on the southbound leg aided by a tail wind. The total 740 mile round trip took 2 hours 41 minutes at 175.77 mph average. These figures surpassed last year’s mark by Jimmie Wedell.
