Mystery steamer afire reported far from Durban
The British steamer Harlow from Newport News says on July 27 it passed a vessel ablaze about 1180 miles from Durban. The name could not be identified before the ship was destroyed by an explosion. It is believed to be the Warath, a British steamer of 600 aboard, not heard from since July 26.

Sheriff Budge of Bear Lake County came from Paris to recover Edward Morley, Charles Beck, and Alvard Christenson, three men arrested on telegraphic advices.
