Floggers Indicted as Alabama Grand Jury Action
Eighteen indictments for flogging were returned by the Jefferson county grand jury to Judge John P. McCoy. Louis C. Albright, arrested on charges including kidnapping in the flogging of Arthur Hitt, remained jailed after failing to post a 25,000 bond. Hitt sold a 60 acre farm below value. Albright is said to be personal attorney for purchaser W. J. Worthington. The grand jury report condemns marauders and self constituted dictators and condemns secret fraternal oaths undermining justice. The report calls secret oaths a menace to the state. NO SECOND ROAD.
