Cincinnati reports a yellow fever scare as five people detained were confirmed stricken and sent to a quarantine hospital. A special train brought 200 Louisiana refugees, many destitute, to Cincinnati. some passengers sought escape but were restrained.
Chicago wheat quotes on Sept 15 show No 2 Red front month at 84 1/2 cents per bushel and December at 84 3/4 cents amid futures trading.
New Madrid Missouri Sept 14 Trouble over importing negro workers at OWes Delaney's lumber camp flared into violence last night. A white mob attacked Delaney and his workers at Henderson Mound, a pitched battle followed with about seventy five shots fired. Delaney was wounded in the head and purchased rifles in town declaring he will keep the workers at work despite resistance. The anti negro element is reinforced and more trouble is anticipated.

Dr Washington Gladden presented a resolution at the American Board session in Seattle stating officers should not solicit or accept funds from sources deemed morally reprehensible or socially injurious. The board referred the measure to the business committee for report with no debate.
In Los Angeles on September 15 a residence belonging to Dr W. W. Ordway caught fire. While occupants fought the flames, burglars entered, stole a handbag with bonds worth 130000 dollars and 500 dollars in gold, then fled. The bag was recovered but bonds were scorched.
The imperial ukase abolishing retaliatory duties on American imports was issued today and went into effect at all customs houses by telegraphic orders from the Ministry of Finance.
A. J. Jennesse of 9201 Butler Street Chicago reports a cold settled in his kidneys after exposure. He tried several advertised remedies with no benefit until Foley's Kidney Cure cured two thirds of a bottle, with Mrs. A. L. Cook noting similar relief.
Lewiston Tribune reports Senator Heyburn defends Idaho against forest reserve policy aiming to keep 23 percent of state lands off limits. He concedes reserve laws might be amended to allow settlement, citing attacks by Washington clerks and Oregonian coverage as unfounded and partisan. He travels Lewiston on legal matters and returns home to Wallace.
Former Indiana state auditor David B. Sherrick was arraigned in police court on embezzlement charges involving state funds. He waived examination and may be bound over to the grand jury with heavy bonds, kept under guard by four detectives, and remained at home per doctor’s advice. Sherrick denounced Governor Hanley and declined to discuss the affair, citing his attorney.
George W. Perkins testified in an insurance inquiry that a NY Life check for forty eight thousand dollars drawn on December 30 1904 was to Cor nelius Bliss treasurer of the committee. He said similar contributions were made in 1896 and 1999 and the motive was to safeguard assets if the Democrats gained power.
Walla Walla September 15 Frank Pasquale was hanged at the state penitentiary for the murder of Charles Gray in Tacoma after a quarrel over an insurance policy.
Avon Connecticut September 15 six workers are missing and feared dead after a fire and blast destroyed part of the Climax Fuse company factory building. Rescue crews search the rubble for survivors amid the blaze and structural damage.
Lightning struck the Hax-Smith Furniture Co wholesale house in Bt Joseph Missouri on September 16 causing a fire. The blaze caused an estimated two hundred thousand dollars in losses.
The thirty fourth annual convention of the American Association of Traveling Passenger Agents opened at the Lewis and Clark grounds in Portland Oregon. Many railroad men did not attend the first meeting due to sightseeing and reunions but a formal reception was held at the Lewis and Clark auditorium before the session began.
The First District Federation of Women’s Clubs of Idaho gathers at St Anthon, Sept 10 to 13, with Pocatello women in the program. Proceedings feature sessions on education, child welfare, poetry, music, and district reports led by Mrs Mitchell and other leaders.

Armistice signed after nine hours of talks between Field Marshal Oyama and General Tineviteh near Shahotzu. It becomes effective September 16 and creates a four kilometer neutral zone between armies. Special envoys will meet near Vladivostok to arrange a naval armistice and border talks with Korea to follow.
Lincoln Beachey piloted Captain Baldwin's airship in a Portland exhibition. He flew from the exposition grounds to the Oregonian building, circled the Oregonian tower, and returned to the grounds in forty two minutes despite a variable three to six mile per hour wind.
A fierce wind and rain storm hit Western Missouri and eastern Kansas early today. Four inches of rain fell as streams reached flood stage. At Mason Kansas a railroad camp was swept away by a cloudburst and a woman and three children drowned. A man and one child were rescued from a tree. Leavenworth saw store fronts blown in and grandstands demolished as tracks washed away.
Thousands of Missourians and lovers of the state gathered in the Lewis and Clark exposition auditorium to honor Governor Folk. He appeared with Governor Chamberlain of Oregon and local officials as the crowd applauded.

Range grass scarce, stock flesh declining. pasturage generally sufficient. Potatoes show frost injury but yield outlook good. beet crop outlook solid despite irrigation limits in upper Snake valley.
