Burrup P. Meyer of Colligwood Ohio won the top number 523 as 579 registered for the Big Lost River irrigation land lottery in Arco Idaho. Walter Seymour and F W Hassan were among the first fifty numbers drawn with Walter from Pocatello and Hassan from Pocatello employed in the Short Line engineering department. The event drew about 1000 attendees and officials including Secretary of State Robert Lansdon and Congressman T R Hamer observed a successful drawing with plans for a Powell tract town.

Portland Oregon Sept 14 F A W Newell director of the reclamation service says apportionments for various irrigation projects will be equalized by 1912. This will be done by holding back allotments from states with no feasible projects such as North Dakota.
