Plague Deaths Rise in San Francisco Chinatown
Chan Mon We, head of the Chinese Six Companies, was found dead in Chinatown from bubonic plague as a Greek laborer also died today near the waterfront. Since May 21 there are 24 cases with 13 deaths. Explosion at Rock Springs Coal Mine Injures Forty
Rock Springs Wyoming September 11 Forty men were hurt half seriously in an explosion at the mouth of the third entry to mine No 10 owned by the Union Pacific Coal company. Many injured were badly burned but no deaths were expected. The blast was caused by lamps lighting coal dust.
