In Portland the state election trimmed the GOP plurality from about 25 000 to 8 000 as dissatisfaction with the Sturgis liquor law influenced voters. Republicans re elected Governor Cobb and all congressmen and will secure a working legislative majority despite smaller margins.
District Judge Alfred Budge affirms a $175 judgment for 8. C. Emile against the city of Pocatello. The suit concerned 14 horses allegedly taken up and sold to cover pound charges by Chief C. B. Smith. The court rules this is not replevin, the action dies, and constitutionality of the ordinance not involved. Attorneys Winters, Witty, Redford, and Dietrich appeared.
